Google Business Profile, formerly known as Google My Business and prior to that called Google Places {yes, they change their name a lot), is a fantastic way of getting your business listed on Google search.
Google Business Profile provides you with the ability to list your business location on Google Maps and local search results.
You can display important information about your business, including the opening/closing times, contact details and a link to your website.
Setting up your Google Business Profile is one of the simplest and most effective ways of setting your business up to be found online. More and more search queries are becoming geographically specific and Google’s algorithms have been developed to consider user intent.
You’ve probably done a Google search at some point such as, “places to eat near me”, if so then you’ll notice that Google returns a list of locations where you can eat based on your current location. The businesses that have shown as a result of your search query have a Google Business Profile page and are consequently one step closer to attracting you as one of their customers.
If these businesses hadn’t got a Google Business Profile page then they would not have shown up.
Think about this in relation to your own business and the products or service you may be selling. How can local searches benefit your business and what might you be missing out on without one?
There are a number of instructional videos available to show you how to set up your Google Business Profile, the best one of which I have included below.
